Special Interest Groups
Portrait Group (Run By Graham Mansfield)
The Portrait Special Interest Group is one of the newest additions to GPS, formed just six months ago and already growing with enthusiasm. We currently have around 35 members, ranging from beginners to experienced portrait photographers, all with a shared interest in capturing people in creative and engaging ways.
Our sessions include a mix of studio shoots, outdoor portrait opportunities, themed projects, practical lighting demonstrations, and occasional Zoom-based editing or critique evenings. Whether you’re looking to develop your lighting skills, build confidence working with models, experiment with creative ideas, or simply enjoy photographing people in a friendly environment, there’s something here for everyone.
We aim to run regular events throughout the year, including studio days, outdoor shoots, and hands-on practical evenings where members learn from each other and explore new techniques.
If you’d like to get involved or find out more, please drop an email to Graham ([email protected]), and keep an eye on the GPS calendar for upcoming sessions.
Come and join us — portraits are fun, creative, and a fantastic way to grow your photography skills.
